This qualification gives first aiders the skills to confidently undertake emergency first aid if someone becomes ill or injured at work, and to provide effective care for a wide range of common workplace injuries and illnesses.
The practical elements on the course give delegates the chance to practice their skills in a calm and safe environment.

Course Content
- Acting safely and effectively during and accident or emergency
- The treatment and care for an unconscious patient
- Recognising and treating seizures
- Recognising cardiac arrest and performing CPR
- Recognising and treating shock
- Bleeding
- Recording accidents at work
- Treating patients with: burns or scalds, injured bones, muscles or joints, poisoning by ingestion or inhalation of a substance or gas, an injury to the eye, signs and symptoms of a major illness e.g. heart attack
